Martha Parham is the Director of Alternative Programs for Poway Unified School District
and has been an educator for more than 30 years. She serves as the liaison for Poway
Unified School District and Concerned Parents Alliance, Inc., and its educational
component College Bound San Diego.
She provides a support system for students and parents to be empowered to make
educational decisions that will allow more opportunities beyond the high school days,
and make their experience with schools positive.
She has taught grades kindergarten through eighth for Petersburg Public Schools in
Virginia, Sunnyside School District in Arizona, and Poway Unified School District in
California. She is known for her great educational results utilizing her
administrative/managerial skills as the Assistant Principal of Twin Peaks Middle School,
Principal of Midland Elementary School and currently serves as Director of Alternative
Programs for Poway Unified School District.
Martha received her elementary and secondary education in Richmond, VA., and received a
Bachelor of Science degree from Virginia State University, a Historically Black College
in Petersburg VA, and a Master of Education degree from University of Arizona in Tucson, AZ.
She has been married to Donald for 37 years and is the proud mother of Leroy and grandmother
of Malik and Mya.
